Prize Competition Terms for 1st Global Law Photograph Competition (now closed for entries)

 

1. Promoter’s name and address:

Obelisk Legal Support Solutions Limited having its registered office address at 30 St. John's Lane, Farringdon, London, EC1M 4N

 

2 How to participate

2.1 In order to enter this competition, you will need to go to https://www.obeliskphotocompetition.com (the “Website”) and upload your photograph. You will be asked to enter the following information, your name, email address, job title, law firm and city. All photographs should be uploaded in JPEG format.

2.2 The theme of the photographs submitted should be "Climate change" (the “Theme”)

2.3 Entrants are encouraged to make a donation to the non-profit organisation ClientEarth via its JustGiving page available at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/obelisksupport. ClientEarth is a charity that uses the power of the law to protect the planet and the people who live on it

2.4 Entries which are incomplete, misspelt, or incomprehensible are void and will not be entered into this competition.

2.5 Each successful entry will be featured in reverse chronological order on the Website, displayed in tile design.

2.6 There will be sharing and voting buttons for each photograph displayed on the Website.

2.7 You may enter this competition as many times as you wish, provided each entry satisfies the requirements as set out under the heading “How to participate”.

2.8 This competition is open to participants working in the legal industry, or who are law students, based internationally as well as those resident in the United Kingdom.

3 Closing date

The closing date for this competition will be 5pm on 25 June 2019.

4 Selection of the winner

4.1 One winner will be selected.

4.2 The winner of the competition will be selected by an independent panel of judges to be the photograph that best represents the Theme out of all entries correctly submitted in accordance with these terms and conditions.  The winner will be announced at an event to be held on 10th July 2019. The judges' decision is final.

4.3 You acknowledge that you may be required to be used in publicity if you are selected as the winner.

5 Prize

5.1 The prize is as follows:  Two Champagne Reception tickets to the musical Hamilton in London on a date to be mutually agreed.

5.2 There is no alternative prize. nor cash alternative

5.3 The prize is non-transferable.

5.4 The winner is responsible for all applicable taxes and expenses not specified in description of the prize above.

 

6 Restrictions and requirements

Employees of the promoter and their immediate families are ineligible to enter this competition.

 

7. Notification of the results and receipt of the prize

7.1 The promoter will notify the winner at the event on 10th July 2019.

7.2 The winner will receive their prize on or before 30th July 2019.

8 General

8.1 The name and country of the winner will be published on the Website after the closing date.

8.2 If you do not want your surname and country included on the list of winners referred to above, you must notify the promoter a reasonable period of time before the closing date of the competition.

8.3 Once you have submitted an entry, you acknowledge that you will assign free license of the use of the image by the promoter.

8.4 By submitting an entry, you are indicating that the image is your own work and that you own the copyright of that image and that the promoter will not be held liable for any copyright disputes with third parties

8.5 Nothing in these terms and conditions will limit the promoter’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for fraud.

8.6 These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and any disputes shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

8.7 Personal information gathered from each entrant will only be used for this competition, and will not be passed on to third parties, unless agreement is given by the entrant at the time of submission
